What does it cost?
Nothing. WeatherHere is a private project without ads, sponsoring or paid upgrades.
Where does the weather data come from – and how accurate is it?
From Open-Meteo, which provides the models of major weather services. Instead of relying on a single model, WeatherHere averages up to 6 of them: DWD ICON, ECMWF IFS, NOAA GFS, Météo-France, UK Met Office, ECCC GEM. If the models disagree a lot, the report says so – then the forecast is less certain. Air quality comes from the European Copernicus service (CAMS).
How punctual is the report?
The report is generated individually and freshly for each subscriber as soon as your chosen time is reached. That only takes seconds; since delivery runs every 5 minutes, it usually arrives no later than 5 minutes after your chosen time. The hourly forecast always starts with the hour of delivery.
Can I subscribe to several locations?
Yes, up to 10 locations per address – home, work and holiday spot, for example. Each location is a separate subscription with its own time, language and units, delivered as its own email. The easiest way is “Change settings” → “Add another location” (active right away); alternatively sign up here with the same address and a new location and confirm by email. You can unsubscribe from each location separately or from all at once.
Can I change location, time or language later?
Yes, any time: every email ends with a “Change settings” link. If you don’t have an email at hand, sign up again with the same address and location; you then confirm the change by email.
I’m travelling – which time zone does the time refer to?
If your location is in a different time zone than you, you can choose during signup whether the time refers to you or to the location. Times inside the report are always local time.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every email ends with an “Unsubscribe” link. One click is enough – your data is deleted immediately and completely.
What data is stored?
Your email address, the chosen location (name and coordinates), language, units, time and time zone, the times of signup and confirmation, and the IP address used for signup as proof of consent. No tracking pixels, no click tracking. The location search runs through this server – your IP address is not passed on to the search services.
